Q1: Do I need to stay in Malaysia for 90 days every year?

  • 50+ years old: No stay requirement for main applicant or dependents.
  • Below 50: Must stay 90 days per year. Dependents’ days can be counted together.

Q2: When can I buy property?

  • Before or after MM2H approval.
  • If bought before approval → eligible for 5-year visa sticker.
  • If bought after approval → must buy within 1 year, with proof of ownership.

Q3: Can I withdraw 50% of my fixed deposit?

  • Yes, if you buy property within 2 years (Silver/Gold/Platinum) or 6 months (SEZ) of visa issuance.
  • SEZ option: Forest City only.
  • Sales agreement + Tourism Ministry approval required for bank withdrawal.

Q4: How long is the Conditional Approval Letter valid?

  • Valid for 3 months (previously 6 months).
  • After 3 months → need to reapply based on case.

Q5: Do I need a police clearance?

  • Yes, for all applicants and dependents aged 18+.

Q6: Is the fixed deposit in USD?

  • Can be in USD or equivalent in MYR.
